Revenue official caught red handed while accepting bribe

Jammu, June 04
A revenue officer (Patwari) landed in police custody after he was caught red handed by State Vigilance Organization while allegedly accepting bribe for issuing extracts of Revenue records from a land owner in Revenue Complex Gole Gujral Jammu.
Identified as Mangat Ram, Patwari Halqa Parladpur the accused was allegedly caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 1800 from a land owner.
Giving details an official spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that Ajay Kumar Badhyal son of Rattan Chand lodged a written report stating that the revenue officer is demanding Rs.1800/- as illegal gratification for issuing revenue papers of his land measuring 3.7 marlas under survey No.290-min situated at Parhaldpur Colony Phallian Mandal, Jammu.
After registration of a case, the Vigilance Organization laid a successful trap at Revenue Complex Gole Gujaral Jammu and arrested the accused red handed, the spokesman said adding, the tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. The accused was taken into custody for further investigation
