| Azad for attitudinal change in administration | | |
Doda, June 05 - Describing attitudinal change as a catalyst in socio-economic transformation, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad said "development task is challenging but determination and dedication of government functionaries promise desired success on ground". Chief Minister was addressing district, tehsil and block officers of three districts of Kishtwar, Ramban and Doda at a combined meeting at Doda today. Mr. Azad said that personal dynamism, transparency in management of affairs and zest to deliver are imperative to translate development schemes into reality. "You have rise to the occasion and prove your mettle", he added. No work without administrative approval should be executed, he said and added "unless funds are provided for the work its launching is futile. We have the experience that this practice in the past has resulted into non-completion of many works for years together". He said that he has initiated a campaign to interact with officers at all levels to sensitize them about their responsibilities. To bring about a positive socio-economic change, functionaries have to gear up. "You have to girdle the loins to give your best", he told officers. He said that in most parts of the state working season is limited and topography challenging. To tackle this problem efficient and responsive functionaries are a must. "We have to catch up with 21st century", Mr. Azad maintained. Chief Minister said that multi-pronged strategy to address political, social and economic issues has been adopted. The success of the strategy depends up on the managerial capacity and positive attitude of the administration, he added. Chief Minister said that the thaw in Indo-Pak relations promises permanent peace and tranquility in the sub-continent. Holding of roundtable conferences, initiating CBMs and opening up of routes across LoC are some important milestones in the march towards peace, he said.
