Charak for perspective planning of developmental works

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 05 (
The Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak stressed upon the officers of different departments in general and engineering departments in particular to gird up their loins in deriving optimum results on the ground in a stipulated time frame in execution of developmental works by putting in their sincere efforts to boost socio-economic status of the people of the state.
This was stated by the Minister at a District Officers meeting of various departments held under his chairmanship at Chanderkote (Ramban) to review achievements and strategies required for future planning in the recently carved out district, yesterday.
The Minister of State for Agriculture, Forests and Higher Education, Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan was also present on the occasion.
The District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mr. A.D. Shehnas, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu and district officers of different departments were present in the meeting.
Mr. Charak said that with the trifurcation of District Doda in the shape of two new districts at Ramban and Kishtwar, the developmental activities in still under-developed inaccessible areas would certainly get a boost besides reducing the constraints of people on may fronts who had earlier to cover hundreds of miles to reach district headquarters Doda for solution of their petty problems.
Expressing his optimism over the capability and determination of officers in discharging their duties to the entire satisfaction of the people, the Minister asked them to make frequent touring in field to monitor the developmental works. He called for preparing a report on the existing status of link roads of Ramban, Gool and Banihal areas in consultation with local legislatures with involvement of private land so that construction of these roads could be completed in a predetermined time frame.
The Minister also asked the officers to highlight their activities in their respective areas about the work done or under execution by displaying them on notice boards at eye-catching places so that people in general could get information about the project without any difficulty.
The Minister directed the DDC, Ramban to look into the problems of people of Chaka-Kundi and Ramban over inclusion of Chaka-Kundi in Ramban and construction of proposed Degree College building at Ramban and prepare a comprehensive report in this regard to address the grievances of the people.
Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan asked the officers to work with zeal and dedication in execution of developmental works. He also called upon them to prepare a list of those works which could not be executed since some years with directions for estimates of cost to be involved in completing these left over works in the district. He stressed for preparing a perspective plan of new works so that these could be discussed in the coming Board meeting.
