Jugal convenes public meetings at Kheral, Panassa

REASI, JUNE 05
To assess the pace of ongoing developmental works and redress the grievances of the general public, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma conducted an hectic tour of various areas which include Bhambla, Laiter, Dungi, Pouni, Kheral and village Panassa yesterday.
District Development Commissioner, Reasi Mr. Sanjeev Verma, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Mr. B. A. Saraf, Dy. Chief Education Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, senior officers of R&B, PHE, Rural Development and President Municipal Committee, Reasi accompanied the Minister during the tour.
After inauguration of Havali Resort at Bhambla Chowk duly constructed by Suri- Khullar family, the Minister convened public meetings at Bhambla and Dungi area of Pouni block and listened to their problems. The people demanded two culverts and one water shed at Dungi in Laiter Panchayat.
The Minister also inaugurated newly upgraded High School Kheral in presence of large number of people hailing from four panchayats. Miss Ruksana was the first student to get admission in 9th class.
While addressing the gathering at village Panassa and Kheral, the Minister said that state government is fully committed to percolate the benefits of developmental schemes at all areas of Reasi district. He said the coalition government is providing equal opportunities in all spheres irrespective of caste, creed and colour. He exhorted upon the people to fully cooperate with the government departments and come forward unitedly for common cause by keeping themselves above from the party line.
Public representatives put forth various demands which include additional funds for accommodation in schools, drinking water facilities in Panassa area, crates at the bank of Anji to save the land, connecting of Panassa with Dera Baba by circular road, road connectivity to villae Dasano, installation of high voltage transformer at Panasa, Gujjar hostel at Reasi etc.
The Minister asked the officers concerned to redress the grievances of the people on priority. He assured the people of village Panassa that as the village has already been declared as “Organic Farming Village” and an amount of Rs. 10 lakh would be spent for organic farming in the village. An amount of Rs. 4 lakh has also been sanctioned for horticulture building at Panassa, he added. He asked the officers concerned to develop this village by planting improved varieties of fruit plants as the area is very much suitable for fruit plantation.
