| 29916 cattle treated in Rajouri | | |
RAJOURI, JUNE 05
An expenditure of Rs. 29000 has been incurred on Animal Husbandry sector in district Rajouri during the first two months of the current financial year. The expenditure involved over Rs. 15000 on purchase and maintenance of bulls and Rs. 14000 on purchase of parent stock besides transportation and maintenance of poultry birds.
As many as 1828 artifices insemination and 222 natural services have been conducted while the department has registered 869 new quality births across the district. About 1344 litres of liquid Nitrogen has been distributed at different veterinary centres, 29916 animals have been treated while 26456 were dozed against liver fluke and whooping cough during the period. Moreover the department has also vaccinated 12228 animals to prevent the live stock from haemoseptima and block quarter etc.
Under poultry sector, the department reared 4600 day old chicken while 483 back yard poultry units have been established during the reported period.
