| Veeri chairs Petition Committee meeting | | |
SRINAGAR, JUNE 05
- A meeting of House Committee on Petition was held here today under the chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri MLA.
Among others Mr. Mohi-ud-Din Sofi, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Mr. Mohammad Sarfraz Khan and Moulvi Abdul Rashid MLAs participated as members.
Deliberating on various issue regarding Social Welfare Department the committee decided that before setting up an ICDS centre in a particular place local MLA be consulted prior to it. The meeting further decided that a sub-committee be framed who would visit Billawar tehsil on June 20th for spot assessment of ICDS centers functioning.
Secretary Social Welfare, Director Social Welfare Kashmir, other senior officers of the department and officers of Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
Mr. Sharma also congratulated retirees of the department who have been honoured by the JK Medical Employees Federation on the occasion.
Prominent employees leaders including President EJAC Mr. Khurshid Aalam, President MEF Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Dhobi, President Employees Union SMHS Mr. Shabir Ahmad Laggo, General Secretary MEF Sheikh Abdul Majjid also addressed and demanded abolition of contractual recruitment policy, equal pay for equal work, review of recruitment rules, provision of accommodation for hospital staffers, filling up of vacant posts, promotion of class-IV employees, risk allowance and creation of posts at different levels to cope up increasing work load in the hospitals.
