Speaker visits Mattu village to redress jatt community problems

JAMMU, JUNE 06
Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand alongwith MLA Suchetgarh Mr. Gharu Ram visited Mattu village in Khour block about 60 kilometer away from here today to mitigate the genuine problems of the Jatt Community.
Addressing the gathering, Speaker said that the present government led by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is fully aware with the problems of Jatt Community and taking keen interest to solve one by one on priority basis. He said that the coalition government is making tireless efforts to provide road connectivity, adequate drinking water, electricity, repair and renovation of lanes, drains, by-lanes, opening and upgradation of educational institutions at their doorsteps for the benefit of all sections of the society. He said that no border village as well as hilly areas would remain unconnected up to the 300-soul population till 2009 saying that all the villages connected with city and town.
Several deputations met the Speaker and put-forth their genuine demands being faced by them which include installation of electric poles, opening of new veterinary hospital, construction of compound wall around the Government Middle School Datyal, construction of community hall at Mattu, upgradation of Government Middle School, Mattu and construction of cremation ground at Mattu for the benefit of general masses.
Responding to the demands, the Speaker asked the rural development department engineers to prepare the estimate for the construction of Mattu-Pangali road and start construction work within week time so that the general masses do not face any inconvenience. He directed the executing agencies to use quality material if anybody found to use inferior material would be viewed seriously.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Suchetgarh Ch. Gharu Ram appealed the Jatt community to send their wards in schools so that they become a good citizen of the country. He said that the coalition government is making concerted efforts to solve the genuine problems of the border belt as well as rural areas people so that all sections of the society do not face any inconvenience.
Among others, Sarpanchs Mr. Surjit Parkash, Mr. Pathan Singh, Mr. Charan Dass and senior engineers of PDD, RDD, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control were also present.
