| Jora inspects ongoing work on 220/132/33 KV Grid Station at Barn | | | JAMMU, JUNE 06 Minster for Power Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora today inspected ongoing work on 220/132/33 KV Grid Station Barn (Kot Bhalwal), which have a capacity of 320 MVA at 220/132 KV level and 40 MVA at 132/33 KV and is being constructed under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme at an estimated cost of Rs 45.39 crore. So far, Rs 13 crore have been incurred till the end of last financial year. The Minister was apprised that the transformation capacity at 132/33 KV level as envisaged in the project has already been commissioned recently. This addition will reduce overloading on Janipur and Akhnoor Grid Stations. The Minister was told that the transformers of 220/132 KV level for the station have already been ordered with BHEL and these are expected to be received by March next year. He directed the concerned officers to complete the work in a time bound manner. He said that with this commissioning the existing grid station Gladni shall get relieved of the overloading problems. Later, Minister convened a meeting with the officers of PDD department of Circle-I and took stock of the status of power tariff in different areas of Jammu city. He asked the officers to collect revenue in time from the consumers and also pay surprise visits to their respecting areas to combat power pilferage. Interacting with the officers, the Minister also enquired about the progress of installation of electronic meters. He asked the officers to install the electronic meters in the remaining parts of the city. The Minister also directed the officers to regularize the illegal connections to enhance revenue. Among others, Chief Engineer PDD Mr D.S Pawar, SE Circle-I and other senior officers of the department also attended the meeting
