SRINAGAR, JUNE 6- Governor Lt. General (Retd) S K Sinha administered oath of office to Mr Justice Aftab Alam as Judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court at Raj Bhavan here this evening. Mr Justice Aftab Alam will be the acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, as per a communiqué issued from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which was read out by Registrar General of J&K High Court Mr Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar. The proceedings started with Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Arun Kumar seeking the permission of the Governor for commencing the oath ceremony. Mr Justice Aftab Alam has been transferred from Patna High Court to Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mr Justice Nissar Ahmed Kakroo, other judges of the High Court and members of Bar and Bench were present. In addition, Acting Chairman Legislative Council Mr P Namgyal, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Mr Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister for Finance and Law Mr Tariq Hameed Karra, Minister for CAPD, Mr Taj Mohi-ud-din, Minister for R&B, Mr Gulchain Singh Charak, Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports, Mr Babu Singh, Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Dr Ramesh Chander Sharma, Vice Chairman, Pahari Board, Mr Shabir Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary, Mr C Phunsog, Financial Commissioner Home, Mr B R Kundal and Director General of Police, Mr Gopal Sharma were among the top ranking civil, police and judicial officers present on the occasion.
