| Sagar for integrated approach to promote waterbodies | | | SRINAGAR, JUNE 06 - Drawing attention towards the acute global scarcity of water and shrinking up of waterbodies including those in Kashmir especially world famous Dal and Wullar lakes, MLA Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today emphasized the need of stringent measures to conserve and protect waterbodies. He said this while chairing a meeting of House Committee on Environment. Mr. Sagar said that the onus of preserving and conserving waterbodies lies in everybody and just putting the responsibility on the government only would not suffice. He said businessmen, farmers, students, intellectuals and people from other walks of life need to make an integrated effort to strive for preservation of waterbodies. He said media has a pivotal role to launch a massive awareness campaign to safe guard waterbodies. Among others, the meeting was attended by MLAs, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sofi, Mr. Shoib Lone, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Naik, Mr. Mohammad Sarfraz Khan, Mr. Qaissar Jamshed Lone, Moulvi Abdul Rashid, Secretary Assembly Mr. Mohammad Ramzan, Vice Chairman LAWDA Mr.Mir Naseem, Director Local Bodies Mr. Mohammad Abaas, Chief Engineer UEED Mr. G.
