| Government committed for all round development: Karra | | | Srinagar, June 06 - Minister for Finance and Planning Mr. Tariq Hameed Karra has said that since the Coalition government took over massive development activities were undertaken in the state. He said those areas which had been ignored previously were also brought under the ambit of development Programme. The Minister was addressing a gathering of various religious and social organizations under the umbrella of Islah-i-Maashira Forum Tral in district Pulwama today. The Minister said equal share was given to every area irrespective of political considerations and adequate funds were allocated for the execution of various schemes. He said Tral constituency has been left behind in developmental programmes during the previous governments and assured that the development activities would soon get fillip. Owing to its ample potential in tourism sector he said Tral would be brought on the tourist map of the state. He announced that Rs. 1.50 crore would be released under phase-II for the construction of Ziarat Sharief Khan-Kahi-Faiz Pannah Tral and the amount would reach to the concerned agencies within a weeks time. Appealing the people to come forward and participate whole-heartedly in developmental activities, he said participation of people is must for harvesting the benefits of various schemes undertaken by the government for their betterment. Mr. Karra asked the district administration to formulate a proposal of sector wise projects on priority basis so that adequate funds would be released for their timely execution. Speaking on the occasion PDP President and Member Parliament Ms. Mehbooba Mufti said that it is due to the tireless efforts of the coalition government that people feel sense of security which is a welcome step. She said the peaceful atmosphere created has helped the people to come out openly and demand their rights. Mehbooba said that Tral has witnessed mass destruction during the militancy and the change in the situation is reflected on the faces of people. Minister of State for R&B Mr. Khalil Bandh also spoke on the occasion.
