| Pashmina worth Rs. 4.38 lakh sold | | |
Jammu | June 6 The Sheep Husbandry Department, out 1,700 qtles of fodder of the value of Rs.11 lacs last year. These fodder were surplus fodder after meeting the requirement of fodder for the live stock of the different farms and sheep husbandry units of the department Leh. This was disclosed at a meeting officers of Sheep Husbandry department, here today. The meeting was chaired by District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Vinod Bhutiyal. Dr. Bhutiyal said that Pashmina worth Rs. 4.38 lakhs was sold last year being accrued from different Pashmina Farms. He said that a revenue of Rs. 3.46 lacs were received by selling culled Sheep and Goats. He said 2,175 Pashmina Goats and Sheep are rearing in different farms in Leh district. A maximum of 848 Pashmina goats are rearing in Pashmina Goat farm Upshi.
