| Jora convenes public darbar at Civil Secretariat | | Several deputations calls on, highlight grievances | | JAMMU, JUNE 07 – To acquaint himself with the problems of general masses and redress their grievances on the spot, Minister for Power Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora convened a public grievance redressal darbar at Civil Secretariat here today. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad has directed all the ministers to conduct open public darbars on alternative days of every month to mitigate the sufferings of people. Public in large number hailing from different districts participated in the public darbar and apprised the Minister of their problems and grievances. A deputation of Graduate Degree/Diploma holder Engineers who have been agitating since past few days called on the Minister and highlighted their grievances and demands. The Minister asked the engineers to call off their stir as they would be absorbed in government jobs soon. He divulged that the government has constituted a three member committee comprising of Minister for PHE Mr Dillawar Mir, Minister for R&B Mr Gulchain Singh Charak and Minister for Power Mr Rigzin Jora to look into the problems of engineers. He said that proposal of employing them in Rehbar-e-Tamir on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem and Rehbar-e-Sehat is also being considered. He said that once the proposal is prepared it will be placed before the cabinet for approval. A deputation of Doda migrants presently camping at Belicharana also met the Power Minister and apprised him that they are ready to pay the power tariff. The migrants were provided free electricity during the shelling period from across the border when they were migrated to camp at Belicharana. The Minister assured to provide them regular electricity on reasonable charges. Mr Jora informed the several deputations who had called upon him during the open darbar that the 1800 MW mega projects are under execution in Kishtwar and Doda districts would be commissioned shortly to ease the problem in the state. The Minister redressed many of the grievances putforth by the masses on the spot while the remaining ones he assured to concede within maximum possible time. Chief Engineer PDD Mr D.S Pawar, SE Power, Xen and other senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
