| Jora reviews power scenario at Jammu | | | JAMMU, JUNE 07 Minister for Power Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora today reviewed the present power scenario at various rural and urban pockets of Jammu at a meeting with PDD officers held at Civil Secretariat Jammu. He impressed upon all concerned engineers to put in their strenuous efforts to come up to the expectations of the people. It was brought to the notice of the Minister that in some areas inspite of 100 percent metering illegal hooking during night hours is still continue by the consumers. He directed to disconnect the power supply in such case after issuing proper warning to the consumer. Mr Jora extolled that the government has taken several innovative measures at all levels to improve the socio-economic standards of the state especially those living in far-flung and remote areas. He said that the power sector has received special attention of the government as a result of which this sector has got separate budget for further improvement. He also exhorted the concerned engineers to personally visit the areas and seek the help of the representatives of the village like Sarpanches and Panches to improve the collection of revenue. Meanwhile, several deputations called on the Minister and apprised him of their problems related to power especially in summer season. Among others, Chief Engineer PDD D.S Pawar, SE Power, Mr Sonam Gyalsom, Executive Engineer Circle 1, 2, 3 and 4 Mr Jatinder Sharma, Mr J.S Sudan, Mr M.L Kalotra, Mr Vinod Bharti and all concerned AEEs, AEs and JEs were also present in the meeting.
