| CM expresses grief over Buland Khan's demise, participates in Nimaz-e-Jinaza | | | Srinagar, June 07 - Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed grief over the sad demise of Vice Chairman Gujjar and Bakarwal Advisory Board, Haji Buland Khan, who passed away here last evening. Recalling services of the deceased leader, Azad said that late Haji Buland Khan rendered invaluable service to the downtrodden particularly Gujjar and Bakarwal communities. He said during his entire life Khan endeavoured to ameliorate the lot of Gujjar and Bakarwal population and other under-privileged sections of the society in the State. The CM also participated in Nimaz-e-Jinaza of late Haji Buland Khan at his native village Dharmari today. Conveying his sympathies to Khan's son and Minister of State for Higher Education Aijaz Ahmad Khan and other members of the bereaved family, Azad prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Minister for Rural Development, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports Babu Singh, MLA Abdul Gani Malik and other prominent persons, who accompanied Azad, also condoled the death of the veteran leader and conveyed their sympathies to Aijaz Ahmad Khan and other members of the bereaved family. Haji Buland Khan, a political and social stalwart, was born at village Thuru in Gool-Gulabgarh in 1933. He championed the cause of weaker sections of the society particularly Gujjars and Bakarwals. Earlier, he represented Gool-Gulabgarh constituency in the Legislative Assembly.
