Indo-Pak relations would usher J&K into overall prosperity: Yaseen

-Saying that by indulging in emotional sloganeering, the people of the state were exploited by various political groups who's only aim was to work for their self narrow interests, Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and Minister for Transport Hakim Mohammad Yaseen has said that time has now changed and as the people judge the political masters by their deeds and not by words.
Addressing a well attended public gathering at Drugged in Khan Sahib constituency of Badgam district, Hakim Yaseen said the development taken place during recent years in social and development fields in the state indicate enough of the positive changes that have been ushered in, which does not need certificate of anybody. He said that the promises made by the coalition government have been fulfilled and efforts are on to further improve the living standard of the people in the far flung areas which remained neglected during the previous years.
He called upon the political leaders of the state to come forward and work jointly from a single platform for finding an amicable and lasting solution of the Kashmir issue. He called for coordinated efforts to make the state prosperous adding that the Indo-Pak friendship is must for peace and development and prosperity of the Jammu and Kashmir State. He said people are the real source of power adding that government is committed to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state.
The Minister said that during past few years of the coalition rule, massive development programmes have been initiated in the state under which road connectivity, drinking water facilities and medi-care has been accorded priority.
He said special attention is now paid towards the overall development of the Budgam district, which was neglected in the past adding that basic infrastructure in the health centers and educational institutions are being upgraded. He said that buildings for health centers in a dozen of villages is in pipe line while as 24 school buildings at a cost of Rs. 6.25 crore are nearing completion in the district.
Hakim Yaseen said that a comprehensive plan has been formulated to develop some more areas like Palamaidan, Tosamaidan and Sutharun, for attracting tourists in these beautiful destinations, claiming that the step would provide job opportunities to hundreds of youth of the area. He said state government would approach central government for a special employment package for the J&K state adding government would also ask the central authorities to provide allowances to the unemployed educated youth of the state.
Referring to the demands put forth by the locals, Minister assured that a link road from Drugged to Kachwari would be constructed besides setting up of Animal/Sheep Units in the area. He said possibility of operating of SRTC bus service from Srinagar and Khan Sahib to Drugged and Kachwari would be worked out besides the damaged transformers would be got repaired soon. He said deserving families of the area were provided financial assistance under IAY for construction of low cost residential houses.
