6/9/2007 12:09:03 AM

Jammu June 8-A delegation of West Pakistan Refugee’s Action Committee, 1947comprising Chairman Jaggu Ram Choudhary Vice-president Yash Pal Bharti, R.S. Pura Block President Nathu Ram, Bishnah Block President Gandharb Singh, Samba Block President Tarsem Lal and Akhnoor Block President Lal Singh held a meeting with the top leadership of the State BJP at party headquarters here today. The BJP leadership comprised State President Ashok Khajuria, Member National Executive and former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh, former State President Daya Krishan Kotwal and Party Vice-President and Spokesperson Prof. Hari Om.
The Action Committee leadership condemned all the Kashmir-based political parties and as also the Congress party and with one voice held Congress party responsible for their miserable plight. The leadership narrated the heart-rending details regarding the plight of their families. They told that they have no right to property, no right to avail bank loans, no right to jobs and no voting rights in the state assembly. They said that now the position is such that the union government too does not treat them as Indian citizens and have been denied all the basic rights because of being Hindus, the alleged.
The BJP leadership, on this occasion said that the party is not making any political capital out of their 60-year old problem because it is a human issue and that the BJP is emotionally committed to their cause. The BJP leaders said that it is height of communalism that the state government led by National Conference in 1952 granted citizenship rights to those Muslim families of the Chinese origin who migrated from Central Asia to Kashmir. The BJP leaders also shared the views of the Action Committee leadership that the ruling coalition and the main opposition NC are against these refugees and these parties on the other hand appears committed to implement the Black Bill No. 9 in order to induce the Muslims to come-back to Jammu who migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and became Pakistani Nationals. The BJP leadership, made it clear that the party will not allow the valley-centric and communal leadership to implement this bill. The BJP leaders declared that the party is prepared to go to any extent to ensure that the refugees from West Pakistan are granted all the rights which are enjoyed by the others.
