| Court rejects bail application of two impersonators | | | JAMMU, JUNE 08 City Judge Jammu, Mr. Pawan Dev Kotwal, today rejected bail application of Kuldeep Singh Chib of Raipur Satwari and Makhan Lal of Nai-Basti Jammu, who were arrested by the police on the direction of Sub-Judge Jammu when they presented a sale-deed for registration, impersonating accused Kuldeep Singh as Vendor Arun Kumar and was identified by Makhan Lal. The Sub-Judge after ascertaining actual identity of the applicants forwarded a complaint to the concerned P/S for registration of case. The Janipur Police Station registered 419/420/467/468 and 109 RPC and is accused in police custody since June 1, 2007. Mr. Pawan Dev Kotwal City Judge after hearing both the sides observed that the offences alleged to have been committed by the accused persons are heinous, for which, severe punishment up to life imprisonment is provided. The applicant/accused appear to have with a well-planned conspiracy not only tried to deprive the actual owner of the property by executing the forged sale-deed and by impersonation, but at the same time also duped the bona- fide purchaser of his hard earned money. The applicants therefore, did not only play fraud and cheated the proposed vendee and the actual owner of the property, but at the same time, also played fraud with the Sub-Judge. Such persons are required to be dealt with sternly as and when such acts are committed by them or even attempts are made so that the evil is nipped in the bud. Any leniency in such cases shall not only lead to chaos in the society as no body's property will be safe from the hands of such elements but further the faith of the common man in the Courts and public offices of the nature of Registrar or Sub-Registrar shall be eroded which cannot be in the interest of social order. With these observations, Court dismissed the bail application of the accused persons
