| DCC Jammu (Rural) holds one day political convention | | | Jammu June 8- District Congress Committee, Jammu (Rural) today held a day long political convention at Akhnoor with Th.Balwan Singh ex-MLA and President DCC in chair Speaker Legislative Assembly, Tara Chand, MP Madan Lal Sharma, Minister for Roads and Buildings, Guchain Singh Charak and Sham Lal, MLA Akhnoor, were among those, who addressed the convention. In his address, Madan Lal Sharma said that the coalition government headed by CM Ghuam Nabi Azad has fulfilled the commitments made in the CMP and those issues lingering for decades have been settled. He regretted that some parties are unable to appreciate because of their vested political reasons and said that the people of the state have wholeheartedly welcomed the bold decisions of the Congress led government Strong criticizing the National Conference and PDP for their biased attitude towards Jammu, the senior Congress leader said the leaders of these parties who claim themselves as the representatives of all the three regions are not sincere towards the problems of Jammu region. ‘Their negative attitude towards settlement of 1947, 1965 and 1971 refugees and implementation of Delimitation Commission is regretful’, he said and cautioned them to give up creating hurdles in settlement of the long pending demands of the refugees. Highlighting the achievements of the Congress led Government, Gulchain Singh Charak said that implementation of Wazir Commission recommendations are one of the important achievements of the government. Rejecting the self rule and autonomy, Balwan Singh said that Congress believes in unity and integrity of the state and any exploitation on the name of region or religion will not be allowed to succeed. He appealed the party workers to work unitedly in strengthening the organization at the grass roots level. Local MLA Sham Lal highlighted the problems of Akhnoor constituency and sought adequate funds for development of kandi belts of Akhnoor
