| Rapid industrial growth promises large scale employment: Azad | | | Jammu, June 8 Underscoring the need to provide opportunities to local youth in industrial ventures, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad asked the industrialists to identify the trades and trainings in which they require manpower to run the units. This, he said, could provide basis to the state industrial training institutes to train the local youth accordingly. Interacting with members of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jammu Federation of Industries here last evening, Chief Minister said that promotion of trade and industry in the state promises vast employment for skilled and unskilled youth. He asked the industrialists to avail concessions and facilities being provided by central and state governments for rapid industrialization in Jammu and Kashmir. Various issues relating to upliftment of industrial sector were discussed besides the matters pertaining to raw material, credit facilities, subsidy, advances, etc. The Chamber and the Federation representatives presented charter of demands to Chief Minister. Mr. Azad assured them that the demands would be examined and considered accordingly. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Pramod Jain, Managing Director SICOP, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Federation of Industries including their Presidents were present in the meeting.
