| APCC clears Rs. 450 cr investment mobilization | | Phunsog stresses for providing 90% employment to locals | |
Srinagar, June 08 - The Apex Project Clearance Committee (APCC) has approved investment mobilization of over Rs. 450 crore and creation of employment for 2500 persons by giving nod to five investment proposal in medium and large scale industrial sectors. The committee met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. C. Phunsog here today and cleared the projects here today. The prominent among the project cleared are manufacturing unit of high quality garments by M/s Tees Apparels Pvt. Ltd., a Chennai based company at Industrial Growth Centre Pulwama, Kashmir. The project is being set up at a cost of Rs. 130 crores in two phases. There will be an investment of Rs. 83.45 crores in Phase-I of the project and the company will be creating employment opportunities for at least 2000 skilled and semi skilled workers. Another project for the manufacture of Pulp, Duplex Board and paper is being set up by one of the leading industrial houses of the country M/S Bharat Box at Kathua in Jammu with an investment of Rs. 201 crores with an employment potential for 882 persons. The other projects cleared are for manufacturing of safety shoes, Pharmaceuticals and Value Added Milk Products. Chief secretary emphasized the need for monitoring effectively the employment criterion and providing 90 percent employment to the locals. He also stressed the need to ensure that the Pollution concerns are seriously taken care of while allowing industrial units to be established in the state. Aslam, Managing Director SIDCO Mr. Irfan Yasin, Joint Director Industries and Commerce Mr. M. Yasin Shora and General Magarer SIDCO Mr. S R Qadri.
