| JK Bank to drive SRTC out of red | | | Srinagar, JUNE 08 - Government is contemplating to restructure the Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) as a joint venture with Jammu and Kashmir Bank to bring the corporation out of red and make it a profitable and economically viable organization. This was stated by Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen while interacting with SRTC Employees Coordination Union members who called on him here today. The Minister said for working out the modalities of the proposed joint venture, a high power expert committee would be constituted. The Union members apprised the Minister about various problems being faced by SRTC workers which include release of salary, CP/GP Fund, pensionary benefits, release of COLA, promotion avenues and implementation of SRO-43. He warned that serious action would be initiated against employees who indulge in indiscipline and create hurdles in administrative affairs. He asked the employees to cooperate with the management and create better work culture so that the corporation is benefited. This, he added, would ultimately help to make the corporation profitable and yield positive results for the overall good of its employees. Commissioner Secretary Transport, Mr. Devender Nargotra, Joint Managing Director SRTC, Mr. Yogesh Koul and RTO Kashmir Mr. M. I. Mir were also present.
