| ‘B Ed colleges are replica of pluralistic society’ | | Galaxy College celebrates annual day | | Jammu | June 9 The Galaxy College of Education celebrated its Annual Day cum Prize Distribution function at college campus here this afternoon. Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu (JU) was the chief guest while Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director Colleges Development JU was presiding over the function. In his address, Prof Mattoo lauded the efforts of college management and students to make the college as a centre of excellence within a short span of time. He emphasized on the need to further improve the standard of teaching-learning in the college. Meanwhile, Dr Meenakshi Kilam in her address termed the B Ed colleges as symbol of pluralistic societies with special emphasis on national integration as students from different north Indian states are studying together in these colleges. She also expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the college. Earlier, the function was inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the visiting dignitaries followed by presentation of Annual report by Uma Sharma, Principal of the college. She highlighted the achievements of the college during the year. Thereafter, cultural program was presented in the form of Rajasthani folk dance, Dogri folk dance and Punjabi bhangra by the students of the college. Later, chief guest distributed the prizes among the students.
