| Stone crushers association flays state government | | |
Jammu | June 9 Stone Crusher Association has accused the government of its discriminatory policy and called for revising it to make it in tune with the policy applicable in Kashmir. Highlighting their problems and the discriminatory policy adopted by the government towards the Jammu based stone crushers, the Association President Vikram Randhawa told media persons here today that the Association had urged the CM in a meeting held recently that the Geology and Mining Department should be asked to collect royalty directly from the stone crushers located in Jammu region on the pattern adopted for their counterparts in Kashmir Valley. He said the policy of state government is a clear discrimination between the crusher owners of Kashmir and Jammu and urged for rectifying it. Since the government is committed to provide relief to the SSI units in the state but in spite of providing relief to the industry, the Government have introduced a third party when they are directly paying royalty to the government as is done in Kashmir. The association members expressed the hope that the government would take positive view and provide relief to the industry .The members who spoke on this occasion were Vikram Randhawa President, Prem Nath, Vice president and Anil Gaind General Secretary.
