| Interaction program for orchardists’ organized | | |

The Horticulture Department today organized an interaction Program of the farmers/orhardists of Jammu District who returned after completing study tour at Punjab and Uttrakhand under Technology Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture.
The farmers/orhardists visited Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, G.B Pant University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttrakhand, Indo-Dutch Farm/Chadha Seed Farm, Haldwani (Nanital) and other prominent places of Agriculture importance in Punjab and Uttrakhand, and interacted with the scientists of both the Universities. The advanced management techniques adopted in the orchards was the main attraction for the farmers at Pantnagar University. The papaya seed production, maintenance of papaya orchards, intercropping of papaya orchards attracted the farmers.
The farmers were very enthusiastic while narrating the details about various knowledge they gained during the study tour.
While speaking about the benefits of Tour Programme, farmers thanked M.S Qasba, Director Horticulture and J.L Sharma Chief Horticulture Officer, for providing them an opportunity to a acquaint them with scientific techniques adopted by the farmers of Punjab and Uttarkhand.
