GREF employee among 3 found dead in suspicious circumstances

Jammu, June 09
Three persons including a GREF employee were found dead in suspicious circumstances at various places of Jammu city and its peripheries since last twenty four hours.

The bodies of all the three victims were brought to Government Medical College for postmortem.

Police sources said that a Border Road Organization employee was found dead in suspicious circumstances at Sampark GREF Camp Kunjwani. The police after taking the body in its custody bring it to GMC for postmortem. Police has registered a case and started investigation.

The deceased employee has been identified as Om Parkash.

Another man was found hanging from a tree early this morning about a hundred meters away from his house at Kampla. The deceased have been identified as Rattan Lal son of Dharam Paul.

While, police has registered a case, the body was handed over to family members after postmortem.

Meanwhile, Police found body of middle aged man from the sleeper coach of Malva Express. The body was spotted by a Railway employee who reported the matter to Railway Police. However, the identity of the deceased was not immediately known. (NAK)



Teen aged girl commits suicide

Anantnag, June 09(NAK): A teenaged girl today committed suicide after consuming some poisonous substance at village Gulshan pora in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir, here today.

The girl was taken to hospital after the family members found her lying unconscious inside the house. However, she breathed her last before doctors could administer her any treatment.

It was reliably learnt that the girl took the extreme step after her family settled her marriage without taking her consent.

The cases of suicide in the Valley have witnessed a steep increase during past one year with two cases of suicides being reported every day.

According to a recent survey conducted by a non governmental organization, 42 suicidal cases have been reported only in Budgam district during last five weeks with majority of them being teenager
