| 10,000 Sikhs take ‘Amrit Sanchar’ at Digiana Ashram | | |

About 10,000 sikhs drawn from various part of the state were baptized with ‘Amrit Sanchar’ by the five Jathedars of five thakhats of Sikhism at Digiana Ashram here today so far.
About 30,000 devotees participated in the function but the arrangements were made only for ten, thousand devotees. Keeping in view the heavy rush of devotees the Jathedar of Akal Thakat, Giani, Joginder Singh Vidanti on the occasion said, that the remaining devotees will be haptized in the mouth of coming September at the same venue. On the occasion Ragi, Sri Harmindir Sahib, Amritsar recited Shabad Kritan and spoke about the importance of Amrit.
Addressing the huge gathering president, SGPC (Amritsar) S. Avtar Singh praised the efforts of Mahant Manjit Saigh of Dera Naugali Sahib in moking Sikhism more strong, and maintaining the maryada of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. He further said, that Mahantji has done a commendable job in spreading education in the state, and appealed Sikh Sangat strengthen the hands of Mahantji in his efforts, so that he can serve the sikh community more better.
Mahant Manjit in his address thanked all those sikh organisation and individuals, who put their full efforts to make Amrit Sanchar and Gurmat Samagam a success.
