| Environment awareness week concludes | | |

Environment awareness week celebrations concluded with a function held at the Forest Information Centre here today. JK Kohli Environmental Soil conservationist welcomed all the guests and participants. Maj. Gen. Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, President Paryavaran Sanstha was the chief guest on the occasion.
JK Kohli while speaking on this occasion highlighted the importance of the week and called for making sustained efforts to keep the environs neat and clean.
He said the theme of the year is melting Ice – a hot topic and its related issues which require immediate attention of scientist, environmentalist and naturalists to take research and corrective measure to save the mankind.
Goverdhan Singh Jamwal speaking on this occasion said that earth’s climate is changing at an alarming rate causing concern for every one.
Prizes were distributed among the students in the symposium. Publicity material and stationary from the Department of Environment and remote Sensing was also distributed among the school students.
