Jammu | June 11 State unit of BJP unit today sat on 36-hours hunger strike at Purani Mandi, Jammu, to press their demand of adequate measures and strengthening of security besides creation of new Village Defence Committees (VDCs) in militancy infested areas and enhancement of salary of VDC members. Party spokesperson Ramesh Arora said that the party will further intensify its protest if the West Pakistan (Refugees) are not given their due rights including voting rights. .He said BJP will expose the irresponsible actions of Police in Doda and killing of some people. A large number of senior leaders including former State President Daya Krishan Kotwal, state Spokesperson Romesh Arora (Adv.), Arun Khanna (JMC Corporator of BJP), Shakeel Gupta, M.S. Kumar, Ashok Kumar Gandhi, Mela Ram, Ram Singh, Swami Raj, Mohinder Singh, Narinder Kotwal, Bachan Sharma, Surinder Chowdhary, Brij Mohan Sharma, Sangeet Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Nazir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Babu Ram,Ashok, Rakesh, Sanjeev, Ikhlayak Ahmed, Suresh Kumar, Rakesh Danider, Vinod Kumar, Karnail Singh, Ram Pal, Rashpal Singh, Avtar Singh, Kewal Krishan, Raj Kumar, Rinku Kumar, Amar Nath, Varinder Singh, Nagar Singh, Barinder Kumar, Pishori Chand, Tara Chand, Sadhaya Arora, Zahir, Ramesh Kumar, Kamal Kishore, Gurdev and many other senior leaders joined the hunger strike.
