| Aziz convenes public darbar at Civil Sectt. | | | JAMMU, JUNE 11 On the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad to conduct public redressal meetings on alternate week of every month by all the Ministers, the Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz convened a public darbar at Civil Secretariat here today. District Development Commissioner Jammu, Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh was also present. People in large number thronged the venue to highlight their problems and grievances before the Minister. A deputation from Suchetgarh, R. S. Pura and Bishnah under the leadership of Ch. Gharu Ram, MLA met the Minister and apprised him of the basic problems and grievances of the respective constituencies. Interacting with the Minister, Ch. Gharu Ram expressed gratitude to the coalition government for conceding the long pending demands of the people that mainly include implementation of Roshni Act under which over 14000 kanals will be given to the farmers. Providing of Sub-divisional status to R. S. Pura and posting of an IAS officer as SDM besides compensation to the affected families during the cross border shelling was welcomed. He asked for settlement of the remaining cases at the earliest. The deputationists demanded filling up of vacant posts in their areas which included Tehsildar, Patwari and Girdawar. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC apprised that 90 per cent compensation cases have already been solved and the remaining ones are those whose land was either crop land or vacant land. He said the ownership land and custodian land cases have been provided compensation and the left ones include the state land cases only. He said that government is considering for compensation to them. Acquiring of 80 feet land along the International border by the BSF on their own was also highlighted. The water logging problem in Gulabgarh, Partabgarh, Nekowalian areas which get completely submerged in water was also put forth the Minister for sympathetic consideration. Assuring the deputationists of early redressal of their grievances, Mr. Aziz said that the problems would be put forth with the Chief Minister for effective consideration. Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Joint Director Information Mr. S. K. Sharma, prominent citizens and local leaders were also present.
