Amar Nath yatra arrangements discussed

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 11
Amar Nath Yatra arrangements were reviewed at a meeting of district officers of various departments convened under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. O.P. Kalandria, here today.
Additional DDC Udhampur, Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Bhat, Chief Planning Officer, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Addl. SP Udhampur, Mr. Anil Magotra, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Mr. Virendra Slathia, Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, Mr. V.M. Raina, District Officers of RDD, Health, Municipality, Engineers of PWD, PDD and PHE, Tehsildar, Udhampur and Chenani attended the meeting.
The banquet hall owners of D.N. Palace, Raj Palace, Sansar Palace, Ashoka Palace, Om Palace, Goverdhan Palace, Krishna Palace, Arti Palace and Mayur Palace etc. situated in Udhampur town were also present in the meeting.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on various arrangements like boarding and lodging, deployment of security, traffic regulation, sanitation, first-aid, drinking water and power supply and maintenance of rates of essential commodities etc.
It was decided in the meeting that the Chief Education Officer would provide accommodation to pilgrims at educational institutions in the town and on National Highway from Tikri to Kud to meet any exigency besides making their arrangements of stay at banquet halls of the town. The Public Health Engineering and Power Development Departments would ensure regular water and power supply.
The Senior Superintendent of Police to provide security at the places identified for the stay of Amar Nath yatris and other vital places on National Highway. The police was also assigned the task of maintain regular traffic flow on the National Highway from Tikri to Patnitop. Tehsildars of Udhampur and Chenani would tehsils would be the Magistrates of concerned tehsils who supervise all arrangements during yatra days.
The Chief Medical Officer would keep ready mobile team of doctors and para-medical staff with medicines and Executive Officer, Municipality to ensure cleanliness of the town education institutions and banquet halls of the town where yatris would stay.

Various social organizations would also arrange free langers on National Highway near Devika and Hanumana temple etc. of Municipal limits.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the district officers to make fool-proof arrangements of stay of yatries by adopting close rapport with banquet hall owners so that pilgrim could stay comfortably.
