Srinagar, Mar 12: A Division Bench (DB) of High Court has directed cellular companies to render all cooperation to Crime Branch of Police Kashmir to enable it complete its investigation into the selection of candidate in Common Entrance Test by Board of professional Entrance Examination in 2010. Division Bench comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice B L Bhat followed perusal of a status report filed by the Crime Branch when court was hearing a PIL initiated by it on the basis of media reports in 2013. The investigation as regards CET-2010, Crime Branch said, remains to be completed as Cellular Companies have not extended co-operation to investigating Officer. Upon this the Division Bench said, "The Cellular Companies identified in order dated 22.8.2014 shall make information whatever required available to the Investigating Officer enabling him to complete investigation by or before the next date of hearing." "Let status report be filed before the next date of hearing," the court said and posted the PIL for next hearing on March 19. Meanwhile, amicus curie Advocate B A Bashir pointed out that he may not be in a position to take a stand as regards closure of investigation pertaining to 2009 and 2011 unless and until he is given access to case diaries and other connected record. The division bench directed concerned to let case diaries and other record of CET 2009 and 2011 be made available on the next date of hearing so that conclusions arrived at by the investigating Officer are examined at the anvil of record. Pertinent to mention that Crime Branch, is investigating the 'Cash-for-Paper Scam" allegedly architectured by former BOPEE chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Peer against whom in August last and supplementary charge sheet was filed naming against eight more accused the scam. A total number 60 accused have been charged in CET-2012. |
