Arrangement for Bhadarwah tourism festival reviewed

Arrangements regarding conduct of Bhadarwah Tourism Festival-2007 under the aegis of Bhadarwah Development Authority (BDA), were reviewed at a meeting of district/sub divisional level officers at Bhadarwah yesterday.
A meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Farooq Ahmad Khan and was attended by the CEO, BDA Mr. Talat Parvaiz, SDM, Mr. P. K. Pole, ASP Bhadarwah, Mr. M.L. Mehra, CPO Doda, Executive Engineer PHE, R&B, JKTCC, PDD, Project Officer DPAP, BDO and other functionaries.
Programmes for smooth conduct of tourism festival from 15 June to 30 June,2007 and related arrangements made so far were reviewed in details with strategy finalized to remove the bottlenecks and other problems with regard to events of the festival also deliberated upon during the meeting.
CEO BDA gave a resume of events which are main attraction during festival days. He also spelled out the date wise calendar of activities made so far. The calendar envisages painting and sculpture from 10th to 25th June, Helicopter, Joy Ride to tourist spot from 10th to 25 June, folk dance and folklore adventure from 15th June to 20th June, craft exhibition from 10th to 25 June, wrestling competition from 20th to 25th June, para-gliding from 15th to end of festival. In addition Bazam-e-Bhadarwah on the pattern of light and sound system will also be staged daily at evening time throughout the festival period.
Chief Executive Officer, BDA informed that two control rooms shall start functioning from tomorrow at Bhadarwah Development Authority and SDM offices to facilitate the solution of problems emanating with quick solution from the concerned authorities during the festival period. He asked for synergic shouldering of the assigned duties to make the festival successful this year.
ADC alongwith CEO BDA and district officers visited the festival site and took stock of the ongoing preparations for the festival which is expected to inaugurate by the VIP on June 15.
