| Rajouri annual plan discussed | | | RAJOURI, JUNE 11 - District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mr Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh convened a joint meeting of MLAs, MLCs and district officers to discuss the annual action plan of Rajouri district for the current financial year. Minister of State for Industries, PHE, Flood Control and Industries Dr Romesh Sharma, MLA Kalakote Mr Rash Paul Singh, MLA Rajouri Mr Mohammad Aslam Khan, and MLC Ashok Sharma besides district sectoral officers were present in the meeting. The annual action plan for Rajouri district has been drafted with an amount of Rs 6633.81 lakh. This included revenue component of Rs 2128.58 lakh as capital component, Rs 1854.96 lakh as state share. Institutional loan has been of the order of 1327 lakh, Tide Rs 4090.18 lakh and reconstruction programme Rs 99.00 lakh. The allocation has been further added 734.09 lakh as centre share. Minister of State for Industries, PHE, Flood Control and Commerce Mr Romesh Sharma said that the government is committed to provide basic facilities and infrastructural development to all the three regions of the state. He directed all the district officers to work with zeal and dedication for the larger interest of the people. He said that there should be no compromise with the quality of works for which liberal funds are provided through District Development Board. He asked the DDC to personally monitor the ongoing works so that these could be completed in a stipulated time frame. MLAs and MLCs expressed their concern over the slow pace of development and emphasized the need to be monitoring of all schemes by the District Development Commissioner Rajouri so that benefit of the schemes could be percolated to the general masses. The DDC disclosed that plan formulation has been made within the ceiling after adhering to the instruction issued by the Planning and Development department. The meeting was informed that on the instructions of government thrust would be laid on execution and completion of spill over works rather taking up of new scheme except those have been proposed under institutional funding. The sectoral officer placed the sector wise scheme in the meeting for detailed deliberations so that the same could be presented in the District Development Board meeting for approval. Earlier, the DDC gave a brief resume of the expenditure incurred on the implementation of welfare scheme in the district during the last financial year. Mr Sheikh revealed that an amount of Rs 6790.90 lakh has already been spent on various development works. The meeting was further informed that in addition to it Rs 1035.66 lakh were utilized under NABARD, Rs 74.18 lakh under Article 275 (i) Rs 133.51 lakh as state-centre assistance to travel sub-plan and Rs 11.30 lakh under state-centre share to schedule castes population.
