| Javaid stress PDD to maximize power supply | | Tremendous potential of hydro-electricity in Kashmir | | Srinagar, June 11 – Appreciating power development department of its persistent making of efforts to luminate every house of the state, Minister of State for Science and Technology & Information Technology Mr. Javaid Mustafa Mir has said that time is not far off when consumers of the state will make it a habit to pay their tariffs on a regular basis. The Minister was speaking during a meeting conducted to review the prevailing power scenario of Chadoora constituency of district Budgam here today. The meeting was among others attended by Principal Secretary to PDD Mr. Madhav Lal, Chief Engineer System Mr. Abdul Rashid and other senior officers of the department. Besides ensuring a regular supply of power, the department needs to address the problem of partisan attitude in the supplies, the Minister exhausted upon the officials of the department. Referring to umpteen potential sources of hydro-electricity in the state particularly in the valley, Mr. Javaid said that the government is in the process to invite national and international companies to harness this energy so that the energy needs of the people are meted sufficiently. In this regard, he said various places in Chadoora also could be utilized for the production of electricity
