| PSC short-listed medicos to get their postings soon | | |
Jammu June 12 The long wait for the medicos who had been short-listed through a screening test conducted by Public Service Commission are likely to get their appointments within few days or within a week, sources said. Sources in the health department informed that endless wait for approximately 224 doctors whose names have been short-listed by Public Service Commission is likely to end now. Worth to mention here is that the PSC has cleared the names of over 200 hundred doctors against the regular appointment of assistant surgeons on March 18, 2007 but government failed to appoint these doctors for certain reasons. Some doctors in Boys Hostel alleged that the list was delayed due to political pressures as many influential aspirants who were eyeing to get the privileged posting within the urban localities. Whatever be the reason but it took almost three months for the government to release this list of fresh appointees when at one hand government is contemplating for streamlining the health sector especially the rural health sector on the other hand it failed to get procure appointments to over two hundred who could turn up a major human resource to strengthen the shattered health care sector, sources said.
