| Banihal, Lolab, Pahalgam deputations call on Mufti | | |
Srinagar , June 12: A deputation from Banihal headed by Farooq Assad Mir called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here today. The deputation, comprising prominent citizens of Banihal and surrounding areas raised various political and economic issues concerning the people there.
Deputations from Lalpora Lolab (Kupwara) and Khayaryal Pahalgam also called on Sayeed to bring into his notice the problems and issues concerning their respective areas.
The deputation from Lalpora Lolab demanded the construction of road from Lolab to Bandipora as the people of these areas are facing lot of hardships reaching Bandipora. The deputation also demanded construction of more water reservoirs and improvement in irrigation and drinking water facilities in the Lalpora area. The deputation told the PDP patron that the Sub-District Hospital Lolab is under-staffed and lacks basic facilities especially in Gaenecology department due to which women of the area suffer a lot and the public of the area have to shift their patients to Kupwara and other hospitals. They demanded that adequate staff and facilities be provided in the said hospital.
The deputation from Khayaryal, Pahalgam complained that the people of the area are facing problems of irrigation facilities due the non commissioning of Lift Irrigation Scheme Hapatnar Pahalgam and they demanded that the Scheme be commissioned without any further delay.
The PDP Patron assured both the deputations that he will pursue the issues raised by them and follow their problems at the earliest.
