Displaced Bijbehara KP’s constitute adhoc body
‘Express concern over dilapidated condition of Hindu shrines’

Jammu June 12- The displaced residents of Bijbehara, Jablipora, Krandigram, Veer and Thajiwara (Tehsil Bijbehara) today constituted an adhoc committee to look into the dilapidated condition of famous temples and shrines including the famous holy cave of Lord Shiva at Thajiwara in Bijbehara. The committee would also suggest measures for restoration of these ancient temples. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held at Swamanand Ashram at Muthi today.
The meeting also condemned in once voice the excesses committed on the members of the Anantnag Prabandhak committee and called for putting an end to such un-human acts. The meting discussed in detail the present condition of these religious places and felt the need for immediate restoration of repair work. The meeting also expressed its grave concern over the alleged tampering of revenue records pertaining to the temple property encroachment on temple lands, non payment of compensation for the damaged Dharmshallas and yatri sheds as also non payment of compensation of the temple land acquired by the government for public utility purposes.
Expressing shock over the present position of famous places of pilgrimage and temples of Thajiwara where the holy cave of Lord Shiva, Temple, Yatri sheds, bath rooms, pinds etc are in dilapidated condition, the committee felt the need for undertaking immediate repairs so as to preserve these ancient pilgrim places.
For this purpose the meeting constituted an adhoc body with Vesh Nath Jotshi as its Convenor, B. L. Bhat (Ex -MLC), M.L.Ash, Dr. M. M. Jotshi as organizers and Virinder Mohan Bhat as publicity secretary
The other members of the adhoc body included O.N.Jotshi, Anil Tikoo, Veerji Koul, Ramesh Tikoo(of Bijbehara) Badri Nath Dhar, Sanjay Dhar, Gopi Nath Dhar of Jablipora) Bansi Lal Raina. Kuldeep Raina (of Krandigam) and Bharat Bushan (of Thajiwara)
