DODA, Mar 19: District Information Centre (DIC) in collaboration of Education Department today organized a declamation contest to aware the general masses about the best practices to be adopted for safe drinking water and sanitation here at Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Doda. According to press release, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Doda, Vaibhav Kohli was the chief guest on the occasion besides Executive Engineer PHE Division AW Zargar, Chief Education Officer Ajeet Kumar Sharma, District Education and Planning Officer Ayaz Mughal, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Yaqoob Mir, District Panchayat Officer Altaf Mir, District Information Officer Anoop Kumar, Principal GHSS (Girls) Shahida Khan and Senior Lecturers and Teachers witnessed the declamation contest. Seven students participated in the contest among Payal Sharma of Class 12th bagged the 1st position while as Toba Banoo and Mehak Rasool Bhat both of 12th class were adjudged 2nd and 3rd respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Kohli informed the gathering that Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India has launched a National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation awareness week across the country from 16th of March to 22nd of March 2015. In this context the District Administration is organizing rallies, workshops, seminars, declamation contests, mass meetings, discussions, essay writing competitions, poster making competitions , painting competition besides door to door visits by Block Coordinators, Cluster Coordinators and Ward wise teams will be conducted to create awareness for safe drinking water and sanitation, he said. |
