The top leaders of BJP comprising State President Ashok Khajuria, National Executive Member & former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh and Party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma today visited Mubarak Mandi to express solidarity with the agitating members of “All J&K Unemployed Engineers Association Jammu” and “All J&K Unemployed ITI Electrician Diploma Holders Association Jammu”. Two separate memorandums containing charter of demands of these Associations were submitted to the BJP leaders.
Chairman of the “All J&K Unemployed ITI Electrician Diploma Holders Association Jammu” disclosed that no appointment has been made since 1981 till date and it was only in 1996 during Governor Rule that a few candidates were appointed in PDD as technician-III. He further disclosed that there are number of posts lying vacant in PDD pertaining to Tech. III. Demanding absorption of all the unemployed ITI Electrician Diploma Holders, he stated that most of them are going to be overage and they have to loose all the chances in Government Jobs.
“All J&K Unemployed Engineers Association” which has registered approximately 500 unemployed engineers in Jammu, is demanding their absorption under Rehbar-e-Tamirat scheme, which according to its President, has already been formulated by the government and moreover announced by Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Health and Medical Education Minister, in an answer to question raised in the House. The President of the Association stated that Rehbar-e-Tamirat scheme is a complete solution for adjusting all backlog of all un-employed engineers and would remove apprehensions of getting overaged while waiting for jobs.
The BJP leaders gave a patient hearing to the demands of both the Associations and assured of BJP’s full support for their genuine demands. BJP State president Ashok Khajuria asked the State Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to concede to their demands at the earliest.
