| Congress remembers Chunni Lal on death anniversary | | |
Jammu June 13
District Congress Committee today organized a remembrance ceremony to pay homage to veteran congress leader late Chunni Lal Sharma ex-deputy chairman of the Legislative Council and former president District Congress Committee (Urban). A large number of Congress activists were present and paid tributes to late leader.
In a function organized at Pradesh Congress Committee Shahidi Chowk Jammu the Congress activists and senior leaders from district body recalled the contributions of the late leader.
Om Chopra Ex MLA and president DCC Jammu presided over the function, R S Chib MLC, Yogesh Sawhney MLA Jammu East paid their floral tributes to the late Congress leader. The speakers described the late soul a leader of masses who is still remembered for his contributions to the poor and downtrodden society. The speakers also prayed for the eternal peace to the late soul and observed two minutes silence on this occasion. Earlier Om Chopra president DCC Jammu, R S Chib MLC and Yogesh Sawhney MLA garlanded the portrait of the late soul and also offered floral tributes to veteran late leader.
Among others who paid tributes include Dharam pal Sharma, Pradhuman Singh MLC, Yash Pal Khajuria, S Amlok Singh, Baldev Sharma, Krishan Lal Gupta, K L Abrol, Chaman Jain, Ashwani Puri, Lalita Sharma, Kulbhushan Sharma, Satish K Sharma, Dewan Chan (all Corporators) and others senior workers of the party.
