Jammu June 13- BJP Kissan March, National President, Vinod Pandey along with the state leaders today addressed a massive kissan rally at RS Pupa near here and on their arrival at the rally, the leaders were garlanded by a number of prominent kissan leaders of the area.
Addressing the rally, Pandey came down heavily on the present Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for adopting anti-farmers policies as a result of which thousands of poor farmers have committed suicide during the last three years across the country.
‘How serious the Congress and its alliance partners ,Communists in particular, are for the welfare of the farmers is clear from the Nandigram incident in which the poor farmers have been repeatedly forced to evict their agricultural lands for setting up of SEZ for the benefit of big business houses of the country’, he said.
Accusing the UPA of shelving the Mega project of joining all the major rivers of the country, Pandey said had this project been taken seriously there would have been no floods or droughts in future.
State BJP President Ashok Khajuria in his address termed the BJP veteran leaders Ch. Chuni Lal and Master Dhian Singh as the real leaders of farmers and said that these grass root level leaders of the party were committed to the cause of the farmers.

He said the real threat to the people of Jammu region is from these Jai Chands of Jammu whose one point agenda is to please the Kashmiri based leaders and enjoy the loaves of power. He asked the people to return 20 legislators of BJP to the state assembly so that BJP gives a Hindu Chief Minister and brings an end to the 60 year old slavery of Kashmiri leadership.
Former State BJP President Dr Nirmal Singh who also addressed the rally charged the state Chief Minister of misleading the people on the slogan of Khushall state and asked the CM to get himself acquainted with the factual position in the state then talk of Khushalli.
