| IRCON engineer caught red handed while accepting bribe in Kashmir | | | Ramban, June 13 An IRCON engineer posted as deputy General Manager (DGM at Banihal, was caught red handed while accepting bribe by a special team of CBI, here this afternoon. Sources disclosed that a special team of CBI reached here and raided the office of IRCON located at Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and arrested its DGM in a corruption case. IRCON Engineer (DGM) was caught red handed while accepting bribe from a local contractor, sources said Identifying him as Vinod Kumar Dy.General Manager of IRCON posted at Banihal, a CBI official said "he is being shifted to Jammu and prosecution is going on". Official sources revealed that a complaint was received from a local contractor Nehal Singh wherein he had alleged that Kumar was demanding money from him for releasing payment and allotment of contracts. They said that after receipt of complaint, a trap was laid by the sleuths of the CBI and the engineer was caught red handed while taking fifteen thousand from the contractor. Sources added. "Acting on a complaint filed by a local contractor Nehal singh; CBI a special team was constituted which laid a trap and caught the accused Vinod Kumar red handed", Mr Ghor SP CBI said, adding the prosecution is going on. The Prompt action taken by CBI was hailed by the local contractors.
