| NABARD approves 120 rural road projects of Rs.222 crore in Valley: Zarger. | | | Srinagar, 09 Aug,2006 – The two vital road projects with the financial assistance of NABARD involving Rs.8.44 crore have been sanctioned for Noorabad constituency in Anantnag district. Under these projects better road connectivity would be provided to Hardimand Guri, Chek Ranbirpora, Korail Mirwani, Chekiwattoo, Yaroo Singoora, Gund Wani Waripora, Tsimer to Dand ward, Boh and Dragran besides renovation of road network in the area. These two projects are among 120 projects aleady sanctioned with an expenditure of Rs. 222 crore by NABARD under road reconstruction programme for rural areas of the state. This was stated by Agriculture Minister, Mr. Abdul Aziz Zarger while addressing a function organized for distribution of financial assistance to the people of Norrabad constituency living Below Poverty Line under (IAY) for construction of residential houses at Kulgam today. The Minister distributed cheques amounting to Rs.7.50 lakh among 62 beneficiaries as second installment for construction of shelter sheds. Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that Government is committed for the equitable development of all the regions of the state for which a bill was passed in the state Legislature to constitute State Finance Commission. He said stimer-Dandwad-Dragran road would be up graded at a cost of Rs.4.36 crore while as Hardimand Guri, C.R.Pora Korail, Waripora road project would involve Rs.4 crore. The Minister announced that five water supply schemes at a cost of Rs.85 lakhs would be constructed in the constituency during the current year under Kandi development programme. These include water supply schemes at tsimer, Huma Pathri, Dragran, Nandmarg and Sarmarg. |
