| ARMY holds MEDICAL CAMP | | | Jammu, 14 June 2007 A free medical camp was organized today for the local populace of the remote areas of Shibbu Chak in Bishnah Tehsil of Jammu District by the Army. The medical camp, organized under the aegis of Tiger Division under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’, was inaugurated by Brigadier RS Jamwal, Commander Sunjuwan Brigade. Almost 200 patients availed the medical facilities today. The team of seven specialist doctors from Army and civil hospital Jammu, to include medical, surgical, gynaecologist, paediatrician, ENT and dentist are expected to work round the clock to attend to a large number of patients in the two days camp. Free medicines are being distributed during the camp. Speaking on the occasion Brigadier RS Jamwal said that such camps are being organized by the Army for needy and poor people of far flung areas who had to travel long distance to keep an appointment with specialist doctors. The locals lauded the efforts of Army and medical authorities of Jammu for this kind gesture, said a PIB (Defenc Wing) release.
