DDC conducts public darbar at Samba

JAMMU, JUNE 14
A public darbar of people of district Samba and its adjoining areas was conducted by the Deputy Development Commissioner Samba Mr. B.S Jamwal in Higher Secondary School Samba today. Apart from the local people all the concerned district, Tehsil, block and zonal level officer were present in the public Darbar.
Mr. Jamwal apprised the public that as per guidelines of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad a programme has been chalked out for holding public Darbar in every Tehsil, block and zone with the sole objective to sort out the problems and issues of public concern on the spot. As such the people were asked to come up with their grievances with an open mind.
The local people presented a memorandum highlighting some important issues and demands of the area which included proper and timely water supply to various mandis and rural areas, irregularity in pension disbursement , satisfactory functioning of Anganwari centres, proper supply of electricity, SRTC bus service from Samba to Sumb through various mandis, overcharging by autorikshas, delay in preparation process of state subjects, display of rate lists at every shops, establishment of pump sets and dug wells in border and rural areas, ban on polythene bags, employment to local youth, emission of pollution from pesticide factories, penalty to factory for not having NOCs, upgradation and infrastructural of various schools, staff shortage in schools and hospitals, complaint register in every office, enrollment of people under NREGA etc.
Referring to overcharging by autorikshas, Mr. Jamwal appealed the owners of autorikshas to fix the fare on the basis of per person to avoid unnecessary harassment to the people. He also assured to look into the matter of provision of SRTC bus service to various mandis and areas of the district. He directed the inspector traffic to discuss with the RTO the matter of arrangement of circular service or some other transport facility.
On the demand of relief from pollution problem, the DDC impressed upon the pesticide factories at SIDCO to ensure the installation of anti-pollution equipments in their respective units.
The District Development Commissioner gave on the spot directions to all the concerned officers to take immediate necessary action to solve these important issues.
Among others, Executive Engineers PDD, PWD and PHE Mr. Vinod Bharti, Mr. N.K Sharma & Mr. S.K Nanda respectively, ACD Ms. Indu Chib, Tehsildar Samba Mr. Pawan Sharma, Assistant Director Fisheries Mr. Kulbushan Verma, Counsellors of various wards, Police, Traffic and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
