| Estimate committee visits Dul Hasti project | | |
DODA, JUNE 14 The Estimate Committee of J&K Legislative Assembly headed by MLA Ghulam Hussain alongwith other members of committee and senior functionaries of district and Engineers of PWD, PDD, Revenue visited Dul Hasti Power Project commissioned by the National Hydro-Electric Power Corporation in Kishtwar district. MLA Kishtwar, Mr Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, MLA Inderwal, Mr G.M Saroori and other committee members including Mr Shrief-ud-Din Sharak, Mr Nizam-ud-Din, Mr Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sofi, Thakur Puran Singh and Mr Ashwani Kumar were also present on the occasion. The 390 MW capacity Dul Hasti project has been fully made operational since 7th April, 2007 and the cost of the project stands at Rs 5192 crore which produces 1928 million units in a year through its three turbines of 130 megawatt capacity, the committee was informed. The matter of joint ventures for undertaking the construction of other identified Hydel Power projects like Pakal-Dul, Sursar, Pathernilkwar and Ratlee were also discussed with the engineers of NHPC and their viability to harness 20,000 MG potential of river chenab were also taken up. Later, the members also visited the power house at Hasti and were briefed about the functioning of the projects by the engineer Incharge of the project. Executive Director JKS Power Development Corporation, Mr V.K Malhotra, Assistant Commissioner (R) Kishtwar Mr R.K Shavan and other senior officers also accompanied the committee members during the visit.
