| Five units get Govt nod | | | SAMBA, JUNE 14 In the first ever meeting under Single Window System in Samba, 5 industrial units were cleared by a committee headed by District Development Commissioner, Mr B.S Jamwal here today. Samba district has distinction of being the largest industrial area of Jammu and Kashmir with many leading companies having their units in the industrial growth centre. Mr Jamwal said that the pesticide related units having potential of pollution hazards have been outrightly rejected while those units registered for manufacturing of PVC pipes, PPR fittings, plastic containers, sunmika and printing press were approved. The representatives of various agencies, who are the members of Single Window System, including Pollution Control Board, Power Development Department, General. Manager District Industries Centre as Member Secretary, Manager DIC and G.M SIDCO were present in the meeting. Mr Jamwal said that the government is strictly adhering to pollution control norms and every step will be taken to check this hazard. He said that possible assistance would be extended for promotion of industries in the district as these holds key to give fillip to productivity and create employment.
