Hakim seeks people’s cooperation for overall development

Srinagar, June 14
– Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yasen has urged the people to rise above political, regional and religious considerations and work towards fulfilling the goal of all round development in the state.
Addressing a well attended public meeting at Gotipora in Khansahib constituency on Wednesday, Hakeem Yaseen said that coalition government has launched a massive development programme in the state adding that a comprehensive road connectivity network to connect every village and town with highways, providing power supply and drinking water to the people, upgradation of medicare in the state continues with full force. He said the government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad initiated various development and welfare projects under the Common Minimum Programme to cover the neglected areas which had been left un-attended and with the cooperation of the people the same are realized.
Describing complete restoration of normalcy as imperative for socio-economic development of the state, Mr. Yaseen expressed hope that the government with the help of people would restore peace for the prosperity of the state. He said dialogue process between India and Pakistan at various levels is a good step for lasting peace and development in the region. He said that his party PDF has always stood for amicable relations between the two countries and wants more improvement in their relation. Hakeem Yaseen said that to fulfill the long pending demands of the people is the mission of the government saying that next year would be year of development, progress for the people of the state. He clarified that only District Development Board can decide setting up of health centres and their upgradation and taking in hand other development works in the district.
Chairman PDF said that PDF is emerging fast as a regional party saying that his party with the cooperation of other aliens would continue to support the coalition government to achieve the goal of peace and development. He reiterated government’s resolve to provide responsive and transparent administration to the people. He cautioned the people against the vested interests who are creating hurdles in peace and development process adding that the government is fully aware of the problems confronting the people and every effort is being made to provide basic amenities to them.
The Minister disclosed that government has accorded sanction for construction of Sheikh Yaqoob Sarfi (RA) Water Supply Scheme in the area costing Rs. 4 crore while as Rs. 2 crore would be provided for the development of tourist resort Doodpathre in the first phase during this year. He assured that within next 15 days the damaged transformers in the area would be either replaced or repaired while as the operating of SRTC Bus in this area would also be sorted out.
