| KP organizations condole death of Sant Sukh Ram | | Assail vested interests for dividing Pandit community | | Jammu, June 14: Leaders of various Organizations of Kashmir Pandits today berated the vested interests for trying to divide the Pandit community for their ulterior motives. Addressing a press conference here today, General Secretary Panun Kashmir, Kuldeep Raina, chief of All State Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference, ON Trisal and Bihari Lal Koul of Panun Kashmir said that the alleged report of suicide by Sant Sukha Ram, a venerated saint, is stunning and has ravaged all of us. The saint who was being considered as a spiritual Guru and hero Saint had kept aloft the flag of Indian civilization in Kashmir by preventing vandalism and destruction of two historic shrines of Nagbal and Gautam Nag in Anantnag district and has been acting as a spiritual guide for Hindus living in entire Kashmir Valley, these leaders added.. They said, since the matter is now subjudice and we don’t want to comment on it .However, if at all any disrespect has occurred to his personality on behalf of any member of our community wittingly or unwittingly, we tender our unqualified apologies to the Sadhus and saints, they said. They said that Sant Sukha Ram had been unnerved by series of grenade attacks launched on him while trying to save Nagbal and Gautam Nag against a plan of grabbing the areas illegally. Condemning the vested interests for trying to divide the Hindu community, these leaders said that those ‘showing disrespect to the venerated saint needed to be isolated as Sadhus and Saints have always been coming to Kashmir for Tapsya and Penance. Kashmiri Hindus have always served them and sought their spiritual guidance’, they added. Asserting that Hindus of Anantnag have been at the forefront of fulfilling this responsibility from thousands of years and any disrespect done by anybody out of ignorance or deliberate is a rare exception and maintained that such forces will have to be isolated. ‘Reaffirming that Hindu society is united despite the diversity it has nourished over the millennia’, the Panun Kashmir warned that ‘they will not allow any body to disrupt this unity’.
